Bird Cocktail Shaker
The New York Botanical Garden in association with Lunt Silversmiths, a leader in innovative silver design, has developed a distinctive collection of tableware, decorative accessories, and gifts inspired by some of the finest examples of botanical art in the Rare Book Collections of the Garden’s LuEsther T. Mertz Library. These exquisitely crafted pieces combine beautiful 18th-century botanical imagery with a modern sensibility.
This striking cocktail shaker features a silver plate bird’s head atop a frosted glass tumbler. The design inspiration for the bird’s head is an illustration of the Bahama titmouse by the remarkable English naturalist and artist Mark Catesby in his
Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands (London: 1754). The bird lid fits tightly into the tumbler so cocktails can be shaken without spilling.
The tumbler measures 8½” tall and is dishwasher safe.
It comes in a beautiful gift box with The New York Botanical Garden logo.
