Chinese Porcelain Butterfly Cachepot

Four hand-painted butterflies wing their way across this wonderful porcelain cachepot. Inspired by classic Song and Ming dynasty porcelain wares, the hand-thrown cachepot reflects the great Chinese tradition of ceramic making. It was made in the ancient southern Chinese city of Jingdezhen, site of the last Imperial kiln of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) and associated with fine porcelain from the 10th century onward. The cachepot is signed by the artist and packed in a charming handmade muslin box with tab closure.
