Chinese Porcelain Carp Vase
The graceful curve of a hand-painted carp complements the shape of this slender little vase. Inspired by classic Song and Ming dynasty porcelain wares, the hand-thrown vase reflects the great Chinese tradition of ceramic making. It was made in the ancient southern Chinese city of Jingdezhen, site of the last Imperial kiln of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) and associated with fine porcelain from the 10th century onward. The vase is signed by the artist and packed in a charming handmade muslin box with tab closure.
