Chinese Porcelain Monk Vases
Who could resist the gleaming colors of these generously rounded, two-toned vases in a classical Chinese porcelain shape? Inspired by classic Song and Ming dynasty porcelain wares, these hand-thrown vases reflect the great Chinese tradition of ceramic making. They were made in the ancient southern Chinese city of Jingdezhen, site of the last Imperial kiln of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911) and associated with fine porcelain from the 10th century onward. The vases are signed by the artist and packed in charming handmade muslin boxes with tab closures.
