Green Fern Earrings

These elongated drop earrings feature ferns from The Ferns of North America by Daniel Cady Eaton (1834–95). Lavishly illustrated with highly detailed, colored lithographs by James Henry Emerton and Charles Edward Faxon, it was published in 1879. Eaton was one of the first professors of botany at Yale University. His extensive library and personal plant collection formed the nucleus of the Yale Herbarium at the Peabody Museum, where he became curator. Eaton’s grandfather, Amos Eaton (1776–1842), was one of the founders of American botany.

Earrings are silver plated with applied colors on both sides. Each measures approximately 5/8" x 2 inches. Comes in a customized gift box.
