This treatment of Hydropus, a large genus of basidiomycetes in the tribe Myceneae, covers 89 neotropical species, including 43 here described as new. Infrageneric taxonomy, distribution in the Americas, and the ecological role of this genus are discussed in the introduction. Keys to the sections and subsections of Hydropus and to the species of each subsection are included, as is a section devoted to illustrations.
