This title is monograph 21(2) in the Flora Neotropica series. In this second part of volume 21, the authors present a revision of this family with a treatment of the six genera and 137 species of zygomorphic-flowered neotropical Lecythidaceae, including 28 new species. Carl H. de Zeeuw presents detailed descriptions of the wood structure of all 11 neotropical genera presented in both parts, along with taxonomic treatments of and a key to the genera based on secondary xylem. The pollination biology of neotropical Lecythidaceae has been updated.
