NYBG Border Spade

The New York Botanical Garden’s custom stainless steel border spade is a smaller-sized, lightweight tool used in tightly planted areas to move soil for planting up to gallon-sized plants.

Tested and used by NYBG horticulture staff, the border spade is designed in the traditional English style and features a handcrafted red oak handle, stainless steel blade, and, of course, The New York Botanical Garden logo. Red oak resists breakage and even increases in hardness with age. The handle is ergonomically shaped for comfort in use.
