The New York Botanical Garden’s custom stainless steel border tools are designed for use in tightly planted areas and smaller gardens. Now available as a set, the lightweight, narrower border fork, shovel, and spade are the perfect tools for turning and loosening soil, and putting in up to gallon-sized plants.

Tested and used by NYBG horticulture staff, these border tools are designed in the traditional English style and feature handcrafted red oak handles, stainless steel tines and blades, and, of course, The New York Botanical Garden logo. Red oak resists breakage and even increases in hardness with age. The handles are ergonomically shaped for comfort.
