NYBG Fruits Note Cards

The luscious images of fruits on these note cards are selections from Johann Wilhelm Weinmann's Duidelyke vertoning, an important 18th-century botanical work in the Rare Book Collections of the Mertz Library here at the Garden.

Johann Wilhelm Weinmann (1683-1741) was an apothecary, botanist, and judge in Regensburg, Germany. He commissioned Duidelyke vertoning, also known as Phytanthoza Iconographica, a multivolume work published between 1736 and 1741 featuring more than 1,000 hand-colored engravings, to illustrate the plants in his herbarium.

Boxed set of 20 cards (7" x 5"), 4 each of 5 images, with envelopes.
