NYBG Odontoglossum Note Cards

The lovely images of Odontoglossum vexillarium on these note cards are a reproduction of a colored lithograph by Walter Hood Fitch from James Bateman's Monograph of Odontoglossum, an important 19th century work on orchids. Fitch's spectacular illustrations of orchids helped spur the orchid mania that overtook Europe in the 19th century.
