You'll need very baggy trou's to fit this field guide that's almost an encyclopedia into your back pocket; maybe it needs its own fanny-pack. That is because it contains more information than any other one we've seen on the subject, with more than 2,000 images and over 700 species. The format is efficient - the text accompanies the pictures, so you don't have to flip back and forth when you are looking up a plant - and unique: the waterproof cover should come in very handy on that hike to Kaaterskill Falls. The inclusion of key identification tips for most of the taxa is another useful feature.
