Designer Stephen Fay created these train cars because his own son was a big fan of New York's subways and loved to ride in the first car and look down the tracks as the train moved through the stations. "Couldn't Dad make some subway trains that would run on my wooden railway tracks?" he asked. So Dad designed gleaming, birch hardwood cars that glide smoothly on wood, plastic, and steel wheels. The trains (with magnetic connectors) run on all standard wooden railway systems. Each train car comes in a package with a diagram of its route and fun facts about the New York City subway system.
