Pewter Menorah
This elegant menorah is a reproduction of a menorah made by master silversmith David Heinz Gumbel in Germany, c. 1930. Gumbel was influenced by Bauhaus designs, as can be seen in the sleek proportions of this menorah. Shortly after it was made, Gumbel fled his native Germany for Palestine, where he joined the faculty of the famed Bezalel School.
The original menorah was made of sterling silver. This reproduction is crafted in argentum pewter, which will not tarnish, in a limited edition of 1,000 in cooperation with Malka Cohavi and Studio D. H. Gumbel.
