Edited and with an introduction by the excellent garden scribe and plantsman Wayne Winterrowd, of rosarian writing, this anthology contains selections from 33 gardeners waxing rhapsodic over their favorite rose (or roses.) No one selected ‘Chrysler Imperial’. The eminent gardeners and rosarians include Graham Stuart Thomas, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Pollan, Anne Raver, Page Dickey, David Austin, Peter Beales, Dan Hinkley, and Jamaica Kincaid. Their choices are beautifully illustrated by Pamela Stagg’s watercolor portraits.
