Set of Fauna Coasters

The New York Botanical Garden in association with Lunt Silversmiths, a leader in innovative design, has developed a distinctive collection of tableware, decorative accessories, and gifts inspired by some of the finest examples of botanical art from the Rare Book Collections of the Mertz Library here at the Garden.

The design inspiration for the charming quartet of bull frog, parrot fish, wampum snake, and land crab coasters are illustrations by the remarkable English naturalist and artist Mark Catesby in his Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands (London: 1754). Made of hardboard with felt bottoms, the coasters measure 3½” x 4½” and come as a set of 4 in a beautiful gift box with The New York Botanical Garden logo.
