Set of Fauna Double Old-Fashioned Glasses
The New York Botanical Garden in association with Lunt Silversmiths, a leader in innovative design, has developed a distinctive collection of tableware, decorative accessories, and gifts inspired by some of the finest examples of botanical art in the Rare Book Collections of the Garden’s LuEsther T. Mertz Library. These exquisitely crafted pieces combine beautiful 18th-century botanical imagery with a modern sensibility.
The bull frog, the parrot fish, the wampum snake, and the land crab are featured on these bold and eye-catching double old-fashioned glasses. The images are from illustrations by the remarkable English naturalist and artist Mark Catesby in his
Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands (London: 1754). The set of 4 glasses adds an original note to cocktail hour.
