The Waramaug Clay Pot

These beautiful brown clay pots, hand-thrown by Connecticut potter Ben Wolff, combine traditional shapes with a contemporary sensibility.

The Waramaug, which Ben named after a lake located near where he grew up, has gently curved sides and an elegant footed base. Over time, the porous clay subtly changes in color and develops a marvelous patina. No two of these handmade pots are exactly alike.

Following an old custom, Ben Wolff pots are sold by the wet weight of the clay, which is stamped into every piece. These pots are also stamped with the NYBG logo and signed by Ben Wolff.
