Yellow Orchid Plates

Orchid lovers delight in the amazing array of colors and shapes found in this extraordinary family of flowering plants. These splendid little glass plates are decorated with orchid portraits by John Nugent Fitch, a master illustrator of orchids at the height of orchid mania in late Victorian England.

The plates measure 5¾” in diameter. Sold individually.

The botanical illustrations are from The Orchid Album, a 19th-century botanical work in the Rare Books Collections of the Mertz Library here at the Garden.
