Hand-Turned Bowls from Fallen Trees

as seen in The New York Times

Many of the Garden’s beautiful trees ravaged during the severe winter storms have come back to life. Shop in the Garden partnered with Bronx-based craftsman Ivan Braun, who collected wood from felled trees such as yew, red maple, plum, juniper, white oak, cherry, apple, and zelkova (a Japanese elm), and returned with some of the most exquisite bowls and vases we have ever seen. He turns each piece by hand, letting the individual character and form of the tree influence the final shape, making each truly one of a kind.

These one-of-a-kind unique objects are sold in limited quantity exclusively at Shop in the Garden. The pieces start at $75. Call 718-817-8869 or e-mail customerservice@nybgshop.org to purchase yours today.
