How do I receive my Member Discount?

NYBG Shop offers all Members their 10% discount on all products. In order to receive this discount, you will need to Register for an account with our website using both the email address associated with your Membership and your Member ID >> a six-digit number provided on your Membership Card when you sign up. If you do not know your Member ID please contact the Membership Office by email at membership@nybg.org or by phone at 718.817.8703.

I've signed up for an account but I'm not seeing my discount, what am I doing wrong?

One of two things can be happening here. First: NYBG Members, upon login, will be automatically shown all prices with the 10% discount already applied. Unlike with a coupon code, your invoice will not show your Membership Discount as its own line item, and the discount will be reflected in the price of each individual product. To check if you are seeing the discounted prices, try visiting nybgshop.org/ on another device or browser window where you aren't logged in to see if the product pricing matches.

If you've successfully signed up for an account and verified that the prices still aren't discounted after you’ve logged in, you've likely run into the Second option: our system didn't recognize your email address and NYBG Member ID combo, so you aren't automatically receiving your discount. This can happen for a number of reasons, whether your account is lapsed, you are using an email address different than the one tied to your Membership account, or your Member ID is incorrect. In this instance, please contact us at customerservice@nybgshop.org or by calling us at 718.817.8869

If this is the case, we will manually apply the discount to your first order (or provide a refund if the charge has already gone through), and update your account so that it will be applied automatically on all future orders.

Today is a Members' Day or Shopping Weekend and we receive an additional 10% or 20% off, do I need a discount code?

You do not! The Member discount is automatically adjusted to reflect all special discount days; the discount online always matches the discount in-storeAgain, if you are unsure if this discount is is being applied to your purchases, try visiting nybgshop.org/ on another device or browser window where you aren't logged in, and check if the product pricing matches the pricing for non-members.

I've already checked out as a guest because I don't know my Member ID, can I still receive my discount?

You can, but it will not apply to your order automatically. Please contact us at customerservice@nybgshop.org or by calling us at 718.817.8869 and we will adjust your order (or apply a refund if the charge has already gone through). You will still need to Register for an account on nybgshop.org/ in order to receive the discount automatically on all future orders. I'm a new member and even though I followed all of the above directions I'm still not receiving my discount, what am I doing wrong?

The system we use to verify Membership records can take up to four weeks to establish a new Member account. If you became a Garden Member within the past 30 daysyou may not be in our system yet. Please contact us by emailing customerservice@nybgshop.org or calling 718.817.8869, and we'll manually update your NYBG Shop account before you place your first order.
