NYBG x BLOOMIST Frog Vase
Sculptural terracotta frog for Ikebana-inspired compositions
Part of the Bloomist x NYBG collection, this low, domed frog vase is hand-formed by artisans in Honduras from locally sourced terracotta clay. Small openings in its rounded form hold individual stems in place without a separate insert, foam, or tape. The open spacing makes it easy to create loose arrangements with fresh or dried botanicals while keeping the vessel’s sculptural shape visible. Each piece is finished by hand in Garden Sage, with small variations in surface and color that make each piece distinctly its own.
Floral design has long been part of the experience of the New York Botanical Garden, where the study of plants extends into the art of arranging them. Our collaborative frog vase brings that same relationship between structure and botanical form to the tabletop, giving each stem its own place while leaving room to experiment with color, shape, and season. Its compact scale is versatile for holding a few garden cuttings or standing on its own as a small clay object.
For fresh flowers, place the vase on a shallow dish or tray before adding water. Terracotta is naturally porous and may slowly release moisture through the clay. For a dry arrangement, simply guide dried botanicals or faux stems through the openings and arrange as desired.
- Terracotta flower frog vase with low, domed profile
- Integrated openings hold individual stems in place
- No separate flower frog insert needed
- Finished with collection’s signature Garden Sage wash
- 4.25" L x 4" W x 2" H
- Sized for small-scale Ikebana-inspired floral arrangements
