NYBG Corpse Flower Poster
PRE-ORDER! This poster is set to ship by the end of October!
Come closer...NYBG's Corpse Flower (Amorphophallus titanum) is a horticultural jewel years in the making. Whenever this rare plant blooms, it causes a sensation. Maybe it’s because it is known for having one of the largest inflorescences in the world, but more likely it’s because of the putrid odor it releases during its brief 24- to 36-hour peak, like the smell of rotting flesh, the reason the plant is more popularly known as the corpse flower.
As of October 17, a new corpse flower is on display in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory and is set to bloom this month. Come, lean in...and then take home a poster comprised of a historical botanical print from our Rare Book Collection as well as herbarium samples of real corpse flowers to remember this aromatic debut. 13x19"
