The artwork is an all-over repeat pattern of Garrulus carolinensis (The Chatterer, or more commonly known as Cedar Waxwing) from The Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands vol. 1 (1729-1732) by Mark Catesby. This work is housed within the LuEsther T. Mertz Library's Rare Book room.
